Dental visits – the safest and most effective way to prevent dental complications and diseases.

How important is it to see the dentist regularly?

The oral cavity is one of the busiest organs in the body because it is a central entrance to the body. Consequently, it is important to maintain and care for the oral cavity regularly. Despite not feeling any pain, most of us recognize the importance of visiting the dentist for both maintenance and preventative treatments.

The importance of visiting a dental clinic every now and then cannot be overstated. There has been an increase in awareness of the matter in recent years, and as of today, 2023, many patients reserve a periodical dental examination for themselves. Periodic dental visits are essential for maintaining the health of teeth and treating various dental problems resulting from a wide variety of causes.

What causes dental problems?

  • Poor dental hygiene

  • Mouth and jaw structural defects caused by genetics

  • Age-related problems

  • Tooth decay caused by the consumption of harmful substances

According to a study conducted in 2004, only 1.8% of recruits were free of caries, with an average of seven damaged teeth per person. During the nineties, a survey of military personnel revealed even more concerning statistics – an average of 12 damaged teeth per soldier.

Adult Dental Care

Often, we neglect ourselves medically, especially when it comes to dental treatment, which does not get the priority it deserves.

As we age, our bodies undergo physiological changes that affect the health of our mouths and jaws. In the case of neglecting problems that developed in the past and were not treated, such as teeth straightening, holes in teeth that are not treated, old and improper fillings, or receding gums and prostheses, permanent consequences can result.

For the prevention of future diseases and to treat those diseases as soon as possible if they exist right from the start, it is very important that you visit the dentist frequently in order to avoid pain, complications, and unnecessary expenses in the future.

Providing Dental Care to Children

The baby’s teeth should be brushed every day from the moment the first teeth begin to erupt. However, brushing itself is not enough, and from the age of two, it is recommended that every child pays a visit to the dentist at least once a year.

It is very important for children to visit a dentist regularly because, during such a visit, the dentist can examine the child’s mouth and jaw development and identify minor dental problems before they become serious. The visit aims to prevent problems that may later cause pain, as well as damage the teeth and oral cavity.

A regular dental visit may also prevent the blackening of the teeth in many children.

Further, a children’s dentist can provide parents with precise instructions regarding the proper brushing of their children’s teeth.

Coping with dental anxiety

Both children and adults often fear going to the dentist because it can be a stressful experience.

In order to provide adequate treatment in a pleasant atmosphere during the examination or treatment, it is important to consult a dentist who is qualified to treat dental anxiety through various methods.

In the event that dental treatment is necessary, laughing gas can be used to relax the patient during the treatment, improving comfort and efficiency and reducing trauma.
